A small city
Built upon a water line
As a hull making its’ way
Beneath the rolling waves
A skyscraper afloat
Yet one can’t help but wonder
Even given displacement of water
Which side should be up?

Love the photo, especially with the small lighthouse. Definitely afloat. 🙂
Thanks Judy, I had the pleasure to be down in NY this past weekend for my sister’s 50th wedding anniversary. And one of my joy about being down there is taking the Staten Island ferry. It is one of those things I miss most about living here. The food, the museums, the ferry and of course my family
Great photo showing how huge that ship is…still amazes me how they float! 🙂
Thanks I’ll agree. When I think of buildings and structures I always think they should be bigger on the bottom than the top. I know it is about displacement but it seems so un-natural to me
Took an Alaskan cruise on the Princess Diamond. Excellent vacation. Amazing how straight a 900 ft hallway looks and how one can be the sole person on one side of one deck with a full capacity of passengers. Nice shot.
Thanks for the comments, I was once on a cruise ship many years ago, nothing like like what I saw in NY harbor.
Great photo. An abomination of architecture. Fantastic contrasts in the whole shot.
