Seasons
Wordless Wednesday -Street Notes
WPC -Fun
Hot summer days
The joys of the young
To build sand forts
That stand up
Against the waves
All part of summer fun
Moments of Spring
Change starts slowly
As we move from
One season to the next
A little green here
A splash of color there
Then a season quickens
Cast your slights elsewhere
Then to look back
It is gone
In those short early
Moments of Spring
Fog Lifting
Kicking Leaves Again
The trees are bare
Yet no trace of a season remains
Raked and bagged, it is no more
Except in my little plot of this earth
Where the leaves still swirl
Lifted by the November gales
The energy spend of a summer season
Will remain, food for the life in the soil
It will again
Be the the green of our next growing season
For now I will be out kicking leaves
Until the snows of winter
Blankets the fall and prepares for a coming spring
Special Moments
Hibernation
Hibernation
It is a matter of orbits and tilts
Of light verses dark
Warm over cold
A means of survival
To flourish
When all things seem alive
To hibernate
When life is frozen against the low angle light
Each morning the sun moves along the horizon
It is that season
As day equals night
To awaken
Out of a den
To emerge from the mud
Or beneath the matted leaves
Whether the earth is ready or not
Life is stirred
Weaken, yet hopeful
To what life offers ahead
