A Brief Moment
A brief moment
When my understanding
Of the world
Begins to clear
A finite
A speck of the infinity
All that has past
All that might be
Layers on layers
Woven in patterns
In intricate designs
I long to stay
In this moment
But all the other realities
Will again flow back in
Hibernation
Hibernation
It is a matter of orbits and tilts
Of light verses dark
Warm over cold
A means of survival
To flourish
When all things seem alive
To hibernate
When life is frozen against the low angle light
Each morning the sun moves along the horizon
It is that season
As day equals night
To awaken
Out of a den
To emerge from the mud
Or beneath the matted leaves
Whether the earth is ready or not
Life is stirred
Weaken, yet hopeful
To what life offers ahead

Life made of small patterns
Small designs
Woven into the fabric
Of a world we see everyday
Easy to miss
One has to look close
Take the time
Yet when you see it
All the small patterns
All the small designs
The whole looks different
And maybe a better place
The picture above is of a fungus called Splash Cups or Bird Nest fungus – Crucibulum laevehe The fungus lives on decaying wood and the bird’s nest is the reproductive part. The little eggs inside are called peridoles that look like seeds but contain spores inside. The peridoles open and little drops of water splash into the cup spread the spores to surrounding areas.
They are usually only about a 1/4 inch in size.

How Few Words
How few words can I use
To express all that
I see and feel
For it seems more words I use
The less they seems real
Finding that balance
I haven’t reach there yet
Nor do I think I ever will
Entice
The glory of life
In unspoken terms
Energy spent, wonders unfold
Unmoving, yet searching for partners
Its’ nature a color, a scent
Offering a sweetness of life
In return, one’s life may continue
With the seeds on the move
Then are bedded to the earth
A cycle unbroken
With subtle changes within
Adapted with it chance of movement
To where it had not been before
