The color of flags
That flutter in the breeze
As we statue our loyalty to some
And the hell with the rest
The color of skin, hair and eyes
That cast us in a human pecking order
The color of monies
And the desire of so many
The color of robes, worn by the speakers of Gods
As they endlessly battle for who is more righteous
Defining our good and evil
You may long to be colorblind
To not see the differences
Just to be part of the whole
Yet in the absence of color
You may tend to stand alone
I really appreciate this one! 🙂
Wise words
Jon – I worked for a while Saturday afternoon in Madbury with four other MGs and a group of young men from UNH. They were from UNH – MOC:DEF Men of color, diversity, education and family and do various community projects. They were a wonderful group of guys, and they did all the heavy lifting and digging for us. It was a real pleasure. 🙂
Loving the detail of the greenery. Is it moss?
A very moving piece. Thank you for posting in so few words what other mess up in a thousand.
