I wander in the woods
To the stream in summer months
Water striders or skippers
The name I knew them as growing up
Summertime dancing on the water
To see their shadows
Who knew they have such big feet

They look like paw prints.
It is fascinating that the shadow with their paw prints is the surface water tension that deflects sunlight. Thanks for the comment
they are fun to watch!
I used to live where there was a brook out back, just a walk in the woods. Now I have to travel to get to see them.We have been having a drought up here so the Mad river wasn’t even flowing, which was fun to walk on the river bed to there they were with some sun. Thanks
Who knew! Love this post!
Thanks. I love all those little things in life
