That’s actually a cycad. Cycads are often confused with palms, but they are only distantly related. The San Diego Zoo has a huge collection of cycads, and this is the time of year when they really look funky.
Thanks Russel, I did not know that. It isn’t one of those plants we live with here in NH. But having visited NC and AZ this winter I got to see of palms & cycads
